As some of you may be aware,  we had an incident at our February Launch that came very close to causing an injury.

After several communications with the Manager of Vista View Park and a lot of discussion between the members of the Broward Area Rocketry Launch Crew,  we present the following changes.

  1. You will notice a new and expanded Launch/Mailing List Entry Box on the top right hand side of the web site.  If you intend to be at our Launches, you must enter your Name and other information into it. If you already have joined our Mailing list, please re-enter all the information asked for and the list will update.  If your name is not on the list, you will not be able to Launch.  Vista View Park has to have a copy of this list on the Friday before each Launch.
  2. We will no longer Launch Multi-Stage or Cluster Rockets.
  3. All Rockets and Motors will be inspected before you go out to the Pads.
  4. At the March 11th Launch, our usable motors will be A through F.  We are holding off on G and H Flights for the time being. Level One Certifications are also on hold.

I know the above really puts a damper on things but we cannot have another Flight Incident.   We do plan to re-evaluate G and H Motor usage.

The Management of  Vista View Park is being extremely gracious to allow us to continue our use of the Field.

And lastly, it is very obvious that we need a new Launch Field. Vista View Park simply has too many people in the Park while we do our Launches.   I am asking EVERYONE to help us look for another Field.  Honestly, a Field in Broward would be great but we are open to any Field available in Broward or Miami-Dade.  Please email BARS at info@narbars.org with any possibility.

Thank you all for your understanding.

The BARS Launch Crew.
