Mar 022011

Hello Everyone!

Just a reminder that our next club launch is this Saturday March 5th at 9:00AM

For the moment, this is the only Model Rocket Launch Venue available in the South Florida area. Lets all make the most of it! Rocketry is just not all High power! We can all enjoy flying anything from 1/2A’s to G motors.

Other Reminders and Club Notes:

1) Since our club has an open membership at this point and does not request yearly dues to help support our costs, I am requesting that people who use our launch facilities donate what they wish to help us out with our 2011 expenses. No one is under any obligation at all and everything helps. We know the economic situation has hit all of us. There will be a donation jar at the Range/Launch Safety Table.

Current Club Expenses:
Yearly NAR Section Membership
Broward County Parks Department Fee Permit
New Multi-Pad Launch Controllers

Thank you all in advance.

2) Model Rocket Build Request
One of our members needs to hire an experienced modeler to build an Estes Saturn-V. The kit is purchased, but he wants a very highly detailed build. If you know anyone interested in making some cash while building a rocket kit, contact us via the contact form on the site. I will forward all the requests.

3) New Multi-Pad Launch System
We are waiting for our new Multi-Pad Launch Controller to go with our launch Rack. Each Controller will handle 3 Pads. I am hoping to have them by our April 2nd Launch.

4) Boy Scouts
Our Local Boy Scout Pack #441 in Pembroke Pines will be joining us with their Scout Leaders to fulfill one of their requirements to earn their Scientist Activity Badge. Lets all of us old-timers give a warm welcome to these great group of scouts! This is what Model Rocketry is all about!

5) Plantation High School Team America Rocketry Challenge
The T.A.R.C. Team from Plantation High School is continuing to qualify with their Teacher and Advisor Mr. Joe Vallone.

And lastly, Marty, Please remember the BIG RED BUTTON!

Here is what’s happening in South Florida Rocketry.

As you can see from our headline, the next BARS Launch will be on Saturday March 5th, 2010 starting at 9:00AM.
We will be there between 8:00 and 8:30AM to setup the Tent, the Launch Equipment and Pads. Your help is appreciated.

Vista View Park allows us to fly A – G motors.

All NAR and Vista View Park Safety Rules are in EFFECT! Let’s have a SAFE DAY!

That is all for now. Please keep an eye out for our emails which always lets you know of the local launches.

If you need to purchase motors, please see Bernie who usually shows up at the local launches. Please email him in advance at BENBUZZBOY3@AOL.COM to make arrangements. Bernie is a dealer for Cesaroni and Aerotech Motors and Hardware.
