Feb 272012

Just wanted to thank all of you who volunteered their own time to help out a really great event on Saturday February, 18th, 2012

Broward Area Rocketry hosted a tent at the Scout event which included some of the nicest Rockets ever seen that were built by our members and guests.

I have to thank the following people with whom this event could not have happened.

First of all, I have to thank Glenn Guarner who got this all going to begin with and none of this would have happened without his help and guidance.

I also have to thank Scott Seidler who went above and beyond helping to setup, breakdown and kept the booth going all day. Scott also came with several of his beautifully built and finished Rockets which our spectators watched fly all day long. Scott was also our photographer of this event and they will be posted in our Gallery Section

A big thanks to Martin Kuck who brought a Static Motor Test Stand which allowed up to show our visitors how a Rocket Motor works at the ground level.

Both Marty and Scott join our monthly launches at Vista View Park and are always helping out.  I can’t thanks these two guys enough for all of their help.

Another big thank you to to Mike West and his family for helping out during our day.

And last but not least, a thank you to Mr. Joe Valone who is an educator at Plantation High School who brought some of his students and their TARC and SLI Rockets to show what Mid Power Rocketry is all about.

We also had some excellent Vendor Support From those good people at Flis Kits and Quest Aerospace.

And thanks to the Scouts, Scout Leaders, the people who put on this huge event and Markham Park/Broward County for giving us the opportunity to bring Model Rocketry to all of us here in South Florida!

Hello Everyone!

BARS NEWS!

Here is what’s happening in South Florida Rocketry.

Vista View Park has confirmed for our Saturday March 3rd, 2012 launch date.

As you can see from our headline, the next BARS Launch will be on March 3rd, 2012 starting at 9:00AM. I usually get there between 8:00AM and 8:30AM to setup the Tent, the Launch Equipment and Pads. Your help is appreciated.

Vista View Park allows us to fly 1/4A’s to G motors.

Our Ground Support Equipment includes custom 1-pad, 3-pad and 7-pad Launch Controllers, a Six Pad Rack with 1/8″, 3/16″ and 1/4″ Launch Rods and a Quad-Pod for those of you whose Mid Power Rockets need a Launch Rail or a 1/2″ Rod. We are covered for just about anything you can launch in our field.

Thank you to all of you who continue to donate to our Launch Fund. We will continue to offer a free Model Rocket Kit for a $10.00 or higher Donation. Your voluntary donations help cover our equipment and permit costs and it also allows us not to have to charge Club Dues or monthly per person flight fees which most Rocketry Clubs do.

All NAR and Vista View Park Safety Rules are in EFFECT! Let’s have a SAFE DAY!
