Feb 132012

As some of you may already know, Broward Area Rocketry has been asked to participate in the Scout Camporee this Saturday February 18th, 2012.

Setup time is from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and the actual running time is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Since we have never done anything like this before, I don’t know what is really going to go on but at a minimum, we will be letting over 2400 scouts and their parents about what we do at Vista View Park.

We plan on doing some static motor tests in the afternoon and we are still waiting to find out if we can launch at least some small rockets during the day maybe using 1/4 or 1/2A motors.

If you would like to show off some of your rockets and chat with the Scouts who visit our booth about our hobby, you are more than welcome to join us.

We will be setting up our Six Rack Pad and our Quad Pod to display some rockets including my almost finished Level 3 bird.

We will be giving out some printed material including our new Bars Flyer and a nice double sided piece that we printed from material given to us by JIm Flis of Flis Kits. Jim was nice enough to be sending us a goody box which includes a rocket motor mockup as well.

Nettie from Quest Aerospace was also extremely accommodating and we will be receiving materials for the Scoutmasters and their Scouts.

If you would like to get involved, please call Marc at 954-922-8627 to let me know. I have to give a list of names to the Entry Gate. Even if you have an hour or two, what is just fine.

And don’t forget our next BARS Launch at Vista View Park on Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at 9:00 AM
